About Us
Gavin is a qualified Veterinary Physiotherapist having gained a BSc. (Hons) in Veterinary Physiotherapy with a focus on equine science, from Harper Adams University in 2022. During his study he completed work placements at VetPhysio, a Crewe based canine veterinary and sports referral clinic and Ashbrook Equine Hospital in Cheshire. He has a particular interest in the effectiveness of Hoffman Reflex wave therapy in the treatment of equine pain, hydrotherapy treatment and kinesiology taping.
As a teenager he learnt to horse ride and developed a keen interest in the care and treatment of horses, volunteering as a stable hand at the local riding school. His interest in equine management and horse husbandry led to the completion of first and national diplomas in equine studies and an NVQ in horse care and equitation at Milton Agricultural College, Cambridge.
He has worked for a blood stock agent preparing and selling young horses, as a stud hand at two thoroughbred racing studs near Newmarket and in re-educating horses with behavioural issues.
Gavin diversified his career into the human sphere following the completion of a HND in Computing Information Technology at the University of Teesside and has worked in the field of database development, business systems analysis and project management within Children’s Services and the housing sector. He is keenly aware of promoting respectful customer relations and ensuring positive treatment outcomes and encourages and welcomes feedback.
Gavin is a fully qualified and insured veterinary physiotherapist and is registered with the National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapist (NAVP).
